Layon Brown

Board Chairman / President

Layon Brown, a dedicated educator and entrepreneur, founded the Children’s Outreach Program for Education (COPE) Jamaica. His journey began as a high school teacher at York Castle High School in St. Ann, where he witnessed the impact of limited resources on students. A colleague’s fundraiser for struggling students inspired him, but it was a conversation about a mother in Trelawny, unable to afford the basics for her child to attend school, that truly ignited Layon's passion for change.

Determined to make a difference, Layon established COPE to provide essential support by covering transportation costs, school lunches, books, scholarships, and other back-to-school supplies to children across Jamaica. This will ensure they have the support they need to pursue their education without barriers.
